Aviation Security Cargo Training - Known Consignor:

‘Plane Training - in partnership with Gatehouse Consultancy and Training - delivers Aviation Security Known Consignor Cargo Training. Our classroom based courses focus on ensuring delegates learn and understand the responsibilities linked to their everyday job. Interactive and dynamic, Known Consignor is a 1/2 day course available either as initial or as a refresher.

  • The threat to aviation

  • Aviation security 

  • Principles of the air cargo regime

  • Prohibited Articles

  • Recognition of explosives and incendiary devices

  • Methods of concealment

  • Protecting air cargo

  • Responding to threat warnings

  • Recognising prohibited articles

  • Making cargo secure

  • Secure transportation

  • The consignment security certificate

  • The role of the responsible person

Modules 1-6, 7 & 8 can be delivered as required for your teams, signatories and responsible people. 


This training is delivered by DfT UK CAA accredited Instructors and follows ICAO guidelines and the Department for Transport’s National Aviation Security Training Programme syllabus.

Accreditation: all delegates will need to pass a written assessment to achieve a pass for these courses.

Certification: upon successful completion of the assessment, a certificate will be issued.

Refresher training and Validity: a refresher training course needs to be attended within the 24 month period.

Pre-requisites: to comply - in accordance with EU Regulation 185/2010 article 11.1.5 and the UK Department for Transport - all delegates attending Aviation Security training must have completed security and background checks prior to attending the course. Written confirmation would be required prior to the commencement of the training course.
